“Get Him to the Greek”

20 Jun

"Get Him to the Greek"This past week I saw “Get Him to the Greek” (2010), directed by Nicholas Stoller and starring Jonah Hill, Russel Brand and Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs.

Aaron Greenberg (Hill) is sent to London by his employer (Combs) to escort musical sensation Aldous Snow (Brand) to LA to perform at the Greek Theater. Drugs, sex, and other crazy circumstances all seem to be preventing Greenberg from completing his mission, but provide viewers with multiple laughs.

A sequel to “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” (2008), I felt this movie was a lot funnier and more enjoyable to watch.

Web 2.0 Logo

20 Jun

For educational purposes only.

For this assignment, I chose to work mainly with the “iPod” text. I created a mirrored effect a highlight. I also brought over the headphones I used in a previous assignment, because the first image that is brought to mind when I think of an iPod is headphones. I actually really enjoyed creating this logo.

“It’s Complicated”

12 Jun

"It's Complicated"

Yesterday I finally got around to watching “It’s Complicated” (2009), starring Meryl Streep, Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin and John Krasinski.

10 years after their divorce, Jane & Jake Adler (Streep & Baldwin) begin having an affair, unbeknownst to their 3 children, Jake’s new wife and Jane’s new boyfriend. Things get complicated (hence the movie title… clever, eh?) when, slowly, people start finding out.

Although it was a cute movie with a unique ending, I would have preferred the cliche, “They all lived happily ever after” ending.

“Law Abiding Citizen”

5 Jun

"Law Abiding Citizen"If you haven’t seen “Law Abiding Citizen”, you need to! It was a great movie! This 2009 action-packed drama, starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is full of surprise twists and turns in the plot line that are sure to keep you wondering what’s going to happen next.

Clyde Shelton (Butler) watches as his wife and daughter are murdered by two men who break into their home. Nick Rice (Foxx), Shelton’s lawyer, makes a deal with one of the murderers in exchange for his testimony against the second, allowing him to walk free after only a few short years. Obviously enraged, Shelton decides to take matters into his own hands, seeking justice through a series of murders.

“Moon”

23 May

"Moon", 2009This past week my friend convinced me to rent “Moon”. I had never even heard of it, nor did the description sound like my kind of movie, but I went ahead and watched it, and was pleasantly surprised.

Sam Bell (played by Sam Rockwell) has been living on the moon harvesting energy for Lunar Industries over the past 3 years. As he closes in on his return home, Sam begins to hallucinate and eventually is involved in an accident that leads to a discovery – one that ultimately questions who exactly Sam Bell is.

This unique sci-fi had me confused for the majority of the film, but in the end when everything was explained, it all made sense and made for an interesting movie – one I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys a good sci-fi, or who can at least stay awake long enough to enjoy the ending…
